Sepia toning will create a brown tone "Old Time" look to all prints toned.
The type of paper used, RC or Fiber Based, Ilford Multi-grade or Ilford Warmtone
will have a specific type of brown tone effect on the print. Ilford Multigrade
RC papers produce cold tone "Dark Chocolate" brown tones.
The Fiber Based papers are warmer in tone. Ilford papers are deeper brown tones.
Ilford Warmtone papers tend to be more cream colored, lighter brown toned. You
may want to try a sample of each type to see for yourself which one you prefer.
For Hand Tinting prints, most customers prefer the Ilford Warmtone papers.SELENIUM TONING will change the tone of the prints from warmtone to a more
cold tone print and will enhance the contrast slightly. Selenium toning is designed
for archival print preservation.
